Private chef in Cabo — your questions answered

Everything travelers ask about hiring a private chef in Los Cabos.

How much does a private chef cost in Cabo?

Your price is a chef fee based on your group size plus ingredients per guest, so smaller groups pay a little more per head and larger groups pay less. All-inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus have a fixed per-guest price for groups of 6 or more. Use the live estimator on this page to see your exact total before you book — no surprises.

Do you buy the groceries and bring the ingredients?

Yes. We handle everything — shopping for fresh local ingredients, all the prep and cooking, full table service, and cleaning the kitchen afterward. You just enjoy your meal.

How many guests do I need to book a private chef in Los Cabos?

You can book from 2 guests with our build-your-own menu. Fixed all-inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are available for groups of 6 or more, and our drinks-included event menus are designed for 10 or more.

What's included in a private chef experience in Cabo?

Menu planning, grocery shopping, all prep and cooking, full table service, and kitchen setup and cleanup. Event menus also include welcome drinks. It is restaurant-quality dining in your own villa, on your schedule.

Can you accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or food allergies?

Absolutely. Tell us about any dietary needs or allergies when you book — a few vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free guests are no problem and will not change your price. We also offer 100% vegetarian Mexican main courses.

Do you cook at my villa, Airbnb or vacation rental in Cabo?

Yes — we cook in your villa, vacation rental, yacht or approved location in Los Cabos. The chef arrives about 1.5–2 hours before service, fully equipped.

What areas of Los Cabos do you serve?

We serve all of Los Cabos and the East Cape — Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, the Tourist Corridor, Cabo del Este (East Cape), Los Barriles, Cerritos and Todos Santos — plus communities such as Pedregal, Palmilla and Diamante. Not sure we reach your rental? Just ask.

How far in advance should I book a private chef in Cabo?

Book as soon as your dates are set, especially in high season. Last-minute requests are welcome and often possible — send us your date and we will confirm availability right away.

Can I build my own private chef menu?

Yes. Our build-your-own menu lets you choose a dish per course — appetizer, soup or salad, a main from the sea, the farm or the garden, and dessert — for the whole group, with the price updating live as you pick.

How do I pay, and is it secure?

Reserve with a 30% deposit, and we send you a secure Stripe payment link. Nothing is charged until you confirm — the number you see here is an estimate, with your final quote confirmed by our team.

Before you book — our policies

How reservations, deposits and changes work for your private chef experience. Please review before confirming.

Reservation Policies

At Cabo Travel Boutique, our goal is to bring a seamless, restaurant-quality private dining experience into your home. Please review the following reservation policies before confirming your booking.

1. Reservation & Cancellation Policy

A confirmed reservation secures your chef, your chosen menu, and the shopping and preparation for your event exclusively for your date, so payments are non-refundable once received. However, if a confirmed service is cancelled, the amount paid is converted into a travel credit: it never expires and is 100% transferable to another person or service. If Cabo Travel Boutique fails to provide a confirmed service, our 100% guarantee applies.

2. Changes to Your Menu & Guest Count

We understand that plans may change. Menu changes and adjustments to your guest count may be accommodated with a minimum of 48 hours' notice, subject to availability. Your final guest count must be confirmed at least 48 hours before service, as it determines the shopping and preparation. Additional guests requested with less than 48 hours' notice cannot be guaranteed and may adjust your price.

3. One Menu Per Group & Dietary Needs

Each experience is one menu for the whole group, served family-style. A few vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free guests are always welcome at no extra cost — simply note them when you book. Please disclose any food allergies or intolerances in advance. While we take every precaution, our kitchens handle common allergens and cross-contact cannot be fully guaranteed.

4. Kitchen, Venue & Access

Please ensure your villa, rental or venue permits an outside private chef and provides a functional kitchen — a cooking surface, refrigeration, running water, power and a clean preparation area. Your chef arrives approximately 1.5 to 2 hours before service to set up, and handles the cleanup of the kitchen area used for your event.

5. Ingredients & Seasonality

We shop for fresh, local ingredients for every event. Market and seasonal availability may occasionally require substitutions of equal or greater quality.

6. Punctuality & Access

So your meal is served on time, we kindly ask that someone be available to give the chef access at the agreed arrival time. Significant delays in access may affect the service schedule.

7. Add-On Services

Live stations (such as our Al Pastor taquero), bartending and mixology, groceries, and transportation may be added to your event and are subject to availability when requested.

8. Delays Beyond Our Control

While we plan every event carefully, timing may occasionally be affected by weather, road conditions, power or water interruptions at the venue, or other circumstances beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding should these situations arise.

9. Venue Care & Conduct

Our chefs treat every home with respect, and we kindly ask that the safety and comfort of our team be respected in return. Our chef reserves the right to discontinue service if conditions become unsafe.

10. Our Concierge Commitment

Every reservation is personally reviewed by our concierge team to make sure your menu, timing and guest count are perfectly coordinated. If we see a way to improve your experience, we will reach out before confirming.

By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Reservation Policies. We look forward to cooking for you in Los Cabos.

Purchase Conditions

1. Reservation Confirmation

Your reservation is confirmed only after the required deposit has been successfully received and a confirmation email has been issued by Cabo Travel Boutique.

2. Deposit Required

A 30% deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance must be paid before or at the beginning of the scheduled service, according to the payment method previously agreed upon.

3. Pricing

All prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified. Your total is a chef fee based on your group size plus ingredients per guest; applicable taxes and any additional requested services are clearly itemized before payment.

4. Additional Charges

Services not included in the original reservation — such as additional guests, live stations, bartending, premium ingredients, or menu upgrades — may generate additional charges, always communicated before confirmation whenever possible.

5. Reservation Accuracy

Guests are responsible for providing accurate information, including the service date and time, venue address, final guest count, kitchen availability, and any dietary needs or allergies. Incomplete information may affect the service or require adjustments.

6. Payment Methods

We accept secure online payments through Stripe and major credit cards. Credit card transactions may be subject to a processing fee when applicable.

7. Service Availability

All reservations are subject to chef availability and confirmation by our concierge team. Submitting an estimate or reservation request does not constitute a confirmed reservation until you receive your official confirmation.

8. Force Majeure

Cabo Travel Boutique shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or service interruptions resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, power or water outages, government restrictions, or other force majeure events.

9. Acceptance of Purchase Conditions

By confirming your reservation and completing the required payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Purchase Conditions as well as our Reservation Policies.
